So I love the TV show, So you think you can dance....I wish I could dance and I envy anyone who can. I love, love the power, the grace, the beauty, I just love every thing about dance. But I have a huge confession....I have the biggest crush on one of the contestants this season. I am absolutely in love with Jose. I would marry him in a heart-beat...if he first converted...and stopped wearing do-rags....and shaved off his little hit of a pedophile mustache...then I would marry him in a heart beat. He is just so cute. And yes I think he is attractive. He is super sweet and humble. But he could still kick any one's butt if needed. I like him.



So update on the Pageant....I submitted my resume and platform statement...and I have been working on my Portfolio all week...Still not quite done...but getting close! Exciting! The Pageant is July 31st 7 pm at AF High School. If you want tickets let me know!

Avatar: The Last Airbender

So Wednesday night...or really early Thursday morning I went and saw Avatar: The Last Airbender. I was super excited. I an a huge nerd, if you haven't figured that out yet; I have watched all of the Cartoons...and I am not ashamed to say that I love them. Ike got me, and the rest of the Fam, hooked. Anyway I as I was saying I was excited to see it, but a little weary. M. Night Shyamalan is NOT my favorite director, I mean who thought Lady is the Water was good? Or The Village. Or Signs? The only movie of his that I have liked was Unbreakable, but I think that was because it had Bruce Willis in it, and I just LOVE him....so any who....Another reason I was weary was the actors...mainly the actor that was going to be playing Sokka....the only other movie I have seen him in were the Twilight Movies...and you know how superb the acting is in those movies and he played Jasper...the stoic, awkward Cullen vampire...and Sokka is my Favorite. He is the comic relief.   He is the brains. So I was super worried about how his character would be.....So I get the tickets and I am there at 11 waiting in line with my Family and new friend Kevin....We finally get into the theater...the movie starts....there is a lot of cheering and yelling when it comes on. I get all giddy and happy. Then Katara says Sokka's name WRONG...she says it Sue-ka, Really? Cringe...cringe...cringe.....then Aang comes in...and they say his name wrong too! On-gg? For Reals? It is a double "A" and you get "On"? That doesn't even make sense....weren't you ever taught the rule...when two vowels go walking the first one does the talking?...except double O's....or something like that....I mean with books you have a little leeway on how to pronounce names...but a cartoon. No. They say the names, so how can you say them wrong if you have seen the cartoons? It was just stupid. It was like they hadn't even watched the cartoons. And I don't understand that. If you are going to produce a movie based on a cartoon shouldn't you at least know the cartoon? Watched it? You would think, you would really think that should be the case. And I was right to be weary about Sokka. He was horrible. Bad, bad, bad. *Sigh*

But there were good points too...it wasn't a total loss...the Affects were cool. And I loved Zuko and his Uncle. Love them. Love the actors in the first place. Loved how they got the characters spot on.

So if you want to watch the Avatar: The Last Airbender, watch the cartoon...all three books are on Netflix instant play. THEY are good.

Miss American Fork...

So I am doing the Miss American Fork Pageant...I know what you are thinking...."Leah? Hmmmm...." I know. I didn't think I would ever do one either. But surprisingly I have decided I want to go to school and who has no money for school? Oh that would be me. I work part-time at a non-profit...so as you guessed I am raking in the dough. So that is my motivation. The actual pageant is on July 31st. I have to compete in interview, talent, swimwear, evening wear, on stage question and my platform, including service portfolio....So in preparation I have been listening to talk radio, watching the news, reading articles, memorizing, and working out at the gym (almost everyday)....It is going to be intense. I hope I do well!  I just hope I make a fool of myself like this poor girl.

But knowing me I will do SOMETHING embarrassing....

So as you might be able to tell, Peeta is my favorite character. I had a really really hard time finding someone who could play him. These are not exactly right but pretty close. William Moseley is the first pick but he needs to grow and put on a  bunch of muscle. And I like Jeremy Sumpter because he has a Peeta smile to me.

But I think he looks more like Peeta when he was in Troy, But he would have to cut his hair. He is a little chubbier in the face, and I pictured Peeta like that. 

The Passion of the Shoes

So anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE shoes!
My high school drama teacher could always tell when I bought new shoes, just by how I acted. Because they make me so happy. I have over the years been adding to my collection. I have over 60 pairs of shoes, and my mother calls me the octopus. So the picture on the left is of my closet. I have 2 shelves of shoes on the floor, a wall hanging for my flats that, my boots are up right on the left, and 2 shelves of shoes in there original boxes all fitting in like a jig saw puzzle.

I got a pair of amazing shoes in the mail today. I came home from running some errands and there was a big box waiting for me! I rushed it up to my room a opened it up. I carefully opened the lid and there glowing back at me were my first pair of orange shoes. I saw them online and I had to get them. I didn't have orange shoes in my collection! I needed them. I have almost every other color. I have green, blue, yellow, pink, brown, white, black, snake print, gray, zebra, red, floral....yes and now I have orange. Sign.  Here are some of my favorites.

ACE

So I am now involved with this really really cool Non-profit called The Academy for Creating Enterprise or ACE.  We are putting on a benefit concert on June 11th 2010 at 7pm at the Masonic Temple  in Salt Lake. Jason Lyle Black is play. And he is awesome! The tickets are $15 for lower terrace and $12 for upper terrace. It is going to be great and it is a great date night. I have tickets! 8 levels of Giving

At the eight and most basic level of giving to others, a man begrudgingly buys a coat for a shivering man who has asked for help, gives it to him in the presence of witnesses, and waits to be thanked.

At the seventh level, a man does this same thing without waiting to be asked for help.

At the sixth level, a man does this same thing open-heartedly without waiting to be asked for help.

At the fifth level, a man open-heartedly gives a coat, that he has bought, to another but does so in private.

At the fourth level, a man open-heartedly and privately give his own coat to another, rather than a coat that he has bought.

At the third level, a man open-heartedly gives his own coat to another who does not know who has given him this gift. But the man himself knows the the person who is indebted to him.

At the second level, he open-heartedly gives his own coat to another and has no idea who has received it. But the man who receives it know to whom he is indebted.

And finally, on the first and purest level of giving to others, a man open-heartedly give his own coat away without knowing who will receive it, and he who receives it does not know who has given it to him. Then giving becomes a natural expression of the goodness in us, and we give as simply as flowers breathe out their perfume. ........ 'Suppose we all gave to those around us as the first man does, begrudgingly offering a coat we have bought in the presence of witnesses to someone who has need and who asks us for help?
